Description
Via Plang Faller we walk to the chapel «Maria Heimsuchung», which has been inviting you to pause for almost 400 years. In the hamlet of Tgà, a former Walser settlement, round wooden buildings stand next to brick houses. We follow the trail over the bridge of the Ragn da Faller. Out of the valley, a path leads through the natural forest reserve Val Faller, with a large larch population. But we turn uphill into the water-rich Val Bercla. At the foot of Piz Platta, the path leads up to Fallerfurgga (2837M). Boulders of all sizes shape the landscape here and offer people and livestock protection from the weather. Through a rough, incredibly colorful rock world we descend to the Flüeseen, from where the view sweeps to the south, to the border mountains between Avers Bergell. From Stallerberg, a historic transition from the Avers to Bivio, the trek leads to the Walser settlement Juf, with 2125 m the highest permanent settlement in Europe.
