Malancuneia - Homesickness Songs

Jean Jegher turned his back on the cosmopolitan city of Bordeaux in 1856 and built an elegant, stately villa in Mulegns. The great homesickness drove him back to the barren mountain village where he had spent his childhood. The Romanesque folk songs tell of the longing for security, of the smiles of the mountain lakes, of the sad forests. – In winter, the touching songs resound in the rooms of the White Villa, which will soon be renovated. A parlour already bears witness to future splendour: Martin Leuthold's Silver Salon tells of the festive charm of the villa and forms the backdrop for the fine concert miniature.
